About Us

Taco Bandito started in 1968 as Taco Grande (first Mexican restaurant in Enid), located on South Van Buren in Enid, Oklahoma. Those were the good old days. Our customers from the 60s and 70s still talk about the RED SHAG carpet that was on the walls and the infamous Hank and Iggy dart game (one of the first electronic games) that hung in the dining room. The teenagers loved hanging out, meeting up with their friends and playing the jukebox.

In 1982, the Lash Family purchased Taco Grande and eventually changed the name to Taco Bandito. Our customers from the good old days still eat with us on a regular basis and every year, especially around the holidays, our teenagers now in the 40s and 50s stop by to eat with us when they are in town. Telling us their memories and asking us when we will be putting in a Taco Bandito in their town or state, because they have never found any quite as good! We love this! We love all our customers old and new.

Our mission is to serve you the highest quality food. We have the same great flavor we had in 1968; the recipe has never been altered. Our future plans are to overnight Taco Bandito burritos to you wherever you are (to satisfy those cravings). Let us know if this is something you would be interested in (we are still in the brainstorming phase). We would like to hear any stories you might have from the 60s and 70s at Taco Grande!
